Getting to Essen

By Plane

Train travel times from the airports:

Düsseldorf (DUS): ca. 0:25 h
Cologne/Bonn (CGN): ca. 1:10 h
Frankfurt (FRA): ca. 1:50 h
Amsterdam (AMS): ca. 2:40 h

Travel description from DUS airport

From the arrival at Terminals A, B and C take the SkyTrain (about 5 min.) to Düsseldorf Airport Station. Go on with one of several trains to Essen HBF (Essen Main Station) like RE1, RE2, RE6 or S1. It will take you about 20 min. (RE) to 40 min. (S1). On VRR.de you can find your connection.

By Train

Several national and international trains connect Essen with Germany and Europe. Have a look at the website of Deutsche Bahn to plan your trip to Essen.
Exemplary train travel times from main station of the respective city to Essen main station:

Amsterdam: ca. 2:30 h
Brussels: ca. 3:00 h
Berlin: ca. 3:45 h
Paris: ca. 4:20 h
Basel: ca. 4:50 h

By Taxi

You can also take a taxi from the airport. The price is approximately 65€ and it will take about 30 minutes. There are taxis available at designated taxi ranks at the arrival exit.

The conference venue is the "Atlantic Congress Hotel Messe Essen".

By Car

Essen is connected to the A40, A42 and A52, which ensures a great accessibility using national and international highways. Please check your connection on Google Maps.

Getting to the Conference Venue

From Essen Main Station take the underground U11 (direction: "Essen Messe West-Süd/Gruga") from platform 2. It will only take about 5 minutes to the station "Essen Messe Ost/Gruga-Halle" where you have to leave the train and stay right to exit B, Messe/Gruga Grugahalle. The Atlantic Conference Hotel is directly in front of you (about 150m to walk). On your way back to the main station please take U11 directed to "Gelsenkirchen Buerer Straße". You can check the connection online @ EVAG.
The U11 is visualized in dark blue in the picture on the right.

By Taxi

You can also take a taxi from the main station. The price is approximately 10-15€. Usually, there are taxis available at both exits. In case you need to call a taxi, you can e.g. use Taxi Essen, available under (+49) 201 / 77 77 77.

The conference venue is the "Atlantic Congress Hotel Messe Essen".

By Car

If you travel by car, you can park in the hotel-owned underground carpark (if available - about 15 € / day) or on the parking lot "P1" directly in front of the hotel (costs vary between 0 and 6 €/day depending on fairs taking place).
